How we research our articles

How the health information on Wellmarrow is written, sourced and corrected, and what it does not include.

Last updated November 2026

1. Research and writing

Every article starts with the question a reader actually has. We aim to work from the strongest evidence available, in roughly this order: systematic reviews and meta-analyses, randomised controlled trials, large observational studies, and guidance from public health bodies. Small studies, animal studies and manufacturer claims are described as such and are not presented as settled fact.

2. What is checked before publishing

  • the article answers the question directly and says where the evidence is limited;
  • it says when to see a doctor, and who should ask a professional first;
  • it lists official sources at the end, and each source link is opened to confirm that it works;
  • it makes no claim that we tested a product or took a supplement ourselves.

3. No medical review at present

Wellmarrow articles are written by our editorial team and are not currently reviewed by a doctor, a dietitian or another licensed health professional. They are general information, not medical advice, so please check anything that affects your health with a professional. If an article is reviewed in future, the reviewer's name, credentials and the review date will be shown at the top of it.

4. Sources

Articles list their sources at the end, with links, so readers can check them. We use official health bodies and link to the original page.

5. Updates and corrections

The “Updated” date shows the last change to an article. If you find a mistake, email contact@wellmarrow.com; we check every report and correct confirmed errors.

6. Independence

Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we write. See our editorial policy and advertising and affiliate disclosure.
